Born at Google on a mission to make AI accessible for any business

In 2017, a team at Google ads noticed a problem. While digital ads were tremendously effective at generating high quality leads for local businesses. Many local businesses didn't have the operational resources to actually service those leads via SMS, phonecall, or chat. Traditional IVR's and call centers just didn't cut it. There had to be another way.

During a Google hack-a-thon, an idea emerged. Bring the best of Google's AI voice technology (such as Google Duplex) and help augment businesses ability to service customers over the phone. From here, CallJoy was born. Incubated in Google Area 120, CallJoy was an initial success. This commercial (6.7M views) sums up how it worked quite well.

Recognizing the market opportuniy, and driven by a mission to leverage AI to help local businesses grow, Goodcall spun out into its own business. We are joined by some of silicon valleys leading investors such as Neo, Foothill Ventures, MerusCapital, Xoogler Ventures, Spencer Rascoff (Zillow co-founder) and AI leaders from Microsoft, Amazon and Google. Our team consists of technology and product leaders from MIT, Google, Meta, Rackspace and Virginia Tech.
