June Jobs Report Better Than Expected
Government statistics released today show the U.S. economy added 220,000 jobs last month, which could be encouraging for new college graduates seeking work. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.4 percent, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Employments gains came in health care, social assistance, financial services, and mining, the report states. Average hourly earnings rose by 4 cents to $26.25.
